Philosophy

Philosophy is arguably the oldest and most important of the academic disciplines. At least that's what Philosophers like to say. In Philosophy we discuss the Big Questions: Is there a God? What is Truth? What would a just society look like? What is the nature of Reality? Can warfare ever be morally justified? Why is it so hard to find a job as a Philosopher?

At Jefferson College we offer courses in Ethics, Introduction to Philosophy, Logic, World Religions, and Medical Ethics. We have one full-time faculty member and a roving band of highly qualified and fascinating adjuncts.

Famous Philosophy majors include comedians Steve Martin and Jay Leno, Alex Trebek of "Jeopardy," actor Harrison Ford, financier George Soros, and the late Pope John Paul II.
